🍣Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone
It all started when my youngest son joined his first basketball team. He was brand new to the game, still learning the ropes, and honestly, wasn't getting much play time. 😠
So, one night, fueled by a mix of concern and a "why complain when you can act?" attitude, I did something entirely out of my comfort zone: I signed up to be an i9 coach. Just so you know, my knowledge of basketball dates back to my grade school days.
Nervous? Absolutely! But my mission was clear: ensure every single player, no matter their skill level, got enough time on the court to learn and grow.

I started as an assistant coach on his first team, and it was so rewarding to see my "mission" take hold, even if just partially. Then, for the second team, I had full control, and that was truly awesome. Watching these kids light up as they learned, connected with each other, and simply had fun – it was incredible.
I went from being an upset mom to a basketball coach who genuinely fell in love with it, and with connecting with all those incredible kids. It was a powerful reminder that sometimes, the most rewarding experiences come from the moments we bravely step out of our usual roles.
